Kay stated, “Consumers want to see the product our designers are showing and they’re getting more familiar which I think is very important.” The LG Fashion Week is a five-day event starting from Sunday.

The LG Fashion Week is currently on in Toronto and we decided to take a little break to head over there. We are here in Toronto to catch up the latest discoveries and collections of some of the leading designers of Canada. If you are surprised that Canada can pull something like this off, well be surprised as this fashion show certainly proves to be different from the others that we attended.

For starters, fashion week is slightly different in Toronto. Come to think of it, everything is different in Toronto. Well, for this special fashion week, there are now online runway shows and a new venue. You are probably scratching your head and thinking, “what in the world are we talking about?” We are referring to getting interactive with this fashion show through online shows and social media. Remember Michelle Obama’s special dress that was much talked about? The one that she wore at the Inauguration event. The same designer, Isabel Toledo is now designing for Payless ShoeSource. If you remember, some time back we did a post on Payless ShoeSource. Toledo will be collaborating with Payless to create a line of handbags and shoes for coming fall.

The line of new shoes and handbags from the collaboration of Isabel Toledo & Payless will be launched in September this year. An item from the line will cost you about $40. Payless has spoken in a statement released by them that the new line will be a “strong shape, fabric and textural focus with a mix of materials such as patent, nylon, rubber and mesh.” Meanwhile, the designer also gave her piece by saying “I believe that the freedom of wearing and living in high-low fashion is what pure American styling is all about,” she goes on to explain that “I grew up wearing high-end clothes and pairing them with innovative, functional and affordable items to complete a look.”

Kristen will be releasing a new handbag collection in time for spring. If you are not familiar with Kristen, Kristen normally produces high-class materials with a down-to-earth touch. This time the new collection consists of partial chain link straps and luxury leathers. Some say there are some snakeskin, nice ties, braided accents and the handy pockets. All these materials sound perfect for the making of a nice pretty bag.
