Behold! It’s the season of celebrities launching their fashion lines. Nicole Richie, a star we don’t know why is famous, has decided to launch her new fashion line at Holt Renfrew Calgary on October 8. The new line named Winter Kate will be launched this month.

Nicole Richie has been around for quite some time now, in the public eye. She’s mostly known for being the ex-best friend of heiress Paris Hilton. She also worked with Paris on a reality TV “The Simple Life”. As soon as her friendship with Paris expired, her role in the show did as well.

Back to the new line, Nicole will herself be present at Holt Renfrew Calgary on Oct. 8 just to promote Winter Kate. She will be there around 3 to 5 p.m. The new line consists of retro-inspired clothes and jewelry. The new line already forms part of Nicole’s wardrobe and now she’s hoping to make the same for those who will be visiting her at Holt Renfrew Calgary.

Jeans are clothing items that we always need. We feel comfortable wearing jeans as they are stylish and at the same time extremely comfy to wear. We have with us another brand that makes amazing jeans. Edwin jeans have been around for a while now and this time the brand unveiled its new Autumn/Winter 2010 collection.

In its new Edwin Autumn/Winter 2010 collection, its jeans seem deeply inspired by Americana. Something that has been quite out of fashion for some time now, but it’s nice to see a comeback. Edwin jeans are for those looking to wear weathered jeans; those that look a little cuff with a simple medium wash and with a leather patch on the back. These Edwin jeans are great for all ages. At the Milan Fashion Week, Roberto Cavalli showcased his spring and summer collection 2011 of handbags. It was a nice show indeed, different from what we have been seeing all week. The show consisted of hippie chic styles lined in fringe and it looks like the type of bag that would look cool if worn by Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively.

On the runway, we spotted handbags with long shoulder straps. Not forgetting the even longer hemlines. This is indeed a different direction for Roberto Cavalli, who usually likes the tight fitting and leopard print styles. This time though, the designer showcased slim and long dresses and skirts. These were nicely decorated in fringe and sheer fabric. And of course, muted tone colors were what these designs consist of.

Going on with the show, the long shoulder strap handbags seem to be the talk of the evening. The handbags started at the bottom of the hip and came in different sizes from medium to large. They were seen with a top zipper and three levels of suede fringe. We would rather wait for the Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer Collection to come out and get a real feel of it.

Armani unveiled his new line for Spring/Summer, which was full of colors. The show went on for almost a week with Armani showcasing bright and bold colors. Armani decided to end the event by introducing a line of black and blue shades.

Armani showed off the new line of women’s wear for spring and summer 2011, which surprised the audience more than anything else. The reason? The famous designer showed off way too much bright colors. Straight out from the front row, two celebrities were not surprised at all to see all the brighty colors. The hot George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis were actually dressed in deep blues and black, which is why maybe Armani made no surprise to them.

Armani was quoted saying that he chose these colors as he was deeply inspired by the Tuareg desert nomads. This might be as the designer has recently launched a new hotel in Dubai. Nevertheless, can’t wait for the new line to come out.

We thought Victoria Beckham resigned from being in fashion campaigns since she launched her own fashion line, but guess the ex-Spice Girl is proving us wrong. The other half of David Beckham is set to model the first label collection of Tom Ford. Though this might surprising to many, it comes to even more surprises when Tom Ford revealed he got singer diva Beyonce to appear in his new line as well.

Tom Ford has asked Beyonce & Victoria Beckham to model in his new line. This will be Tom Ford’s comeback collection after six years. The designer was busy making and directing movies for the last six years. Moreover, Tom Ford focused more on his menswear collection these last six years. So in many ways, this new ladies collection will surely garnered a lot of publicity.

It’s not new to have celebrities representing renowned designers’ collection. Before this, we saw Dita von Teese at Jean Paul Gaultier’s last show and Pamela Anderson was at Vivienne Westwood’s A/W’10 ready-to-wear presentation. Well, here’s wishing Tom For the best comeback in women fashion.

Yves Saint Laurent debuted its Fall/Winter 2010-2011 Manifesto recently in New York. The new launch was photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. It was directed creatively by Stefano Pilati. The new Manifesto was showed off for the first time on the streets of New York. The first 2,000 passersby managed to get themselves a free copy of the coveted tome in a custom Pilati designed bag, which is indeed very exciting.

This season, designer Matthew Ames has launched his first ever brand collaboration which is designing jewellery with the sui generis metalsmiths at Anndra Neen. The attractive pieces was recently seen on the Matthew Ames runway show likewise representing a collaboration of the Anndra Neen designers along with sisters Phoebe and Annette Stephen who agreed this idea as they both were drawn to the sculptural simplicity of Ames’ line, and his idea of making anklets.

Meanwhile, according to Ames, what attracted him to Anndra Neen was the fact that its jewelry has such a strong, individual identity, and isn’t really identifiable with any place or time. This new designed twisted pieces was describe by Ames and Anndra Neen jewellery as the “statement pieces” as it is more likely as a wearable sculpture. Designers have been moving forward with the new wide pants and slowly parting away from the skinny pants. For a few seasons now, the new wide pants have been spotted at lots of fashion shows and the fashion critics seem to love this new style.

So here we are again, discussing about the new handbags collection showed off at the recent New York Fashion Week by renowned designer Rebecca Minkoff. There were many designs that impressed onlookers so let’s get right into it.

Let’s start with the tote bag in a top handle duffel style in white that seemed to be inspired by the 1960’s. This was followed by top handle duffel totes that some said would go well with the Louis Vuitton Speedy silhouette. This type of bag would greatly suit those who are looking for the perfect daily-to-use handbag and other said the bag is perfect for those who travel a lot.

Next was a thick shoulder strap adorned with metallic dots. There was a dotted handbag in black and white with a shiny strap. The Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring 2011 collection consists of mainly handbags with long straps. There were also clutches with different types of leather, size, and color.

At the new Rebecca Minkoff New York Fashion Week show, shoulder bags apparently inspired by Chanel were shown off. They looked mostly like the modern versions of Chanel’s popular 2.55 reissue shoulder bag. They were shown in colors tan, black and silver.
