Tory Bruch Resort Collection for 2011
Dec 8th
For this vacation season of 2011, the Tory Burch Resort 2011 collection is all about vibrant hues, bold patterns and light airy fabrics. This Tory Burch latest collection was inspired from a trip to Rajasthan earlier this year. Tory Burch even created bold accessories for this collection which includes bright and big necklaces, chunky bracelets, printed hats and fantastic sunglasses.
As heard, items from this collection like the long printed chiffon skirts, cropped pants, scarves jostled with a ruffled twill trench, burlap and gold sequin suit jacket and tie-dyed cotton blouses were inspired by the traditional Dhurrie rugs from Rajasthan.
However, for those who live in cold-weather climates, Tory Burch specially designed a few items for them, like the brightly patterned parkas and the leather après-ski boots. Other accessories which are included in this collection are necklaces crafted from shells, beads and neon rubber plus an espadrille boat shoe.
Mischa Barton to launch an affordable fashion line
Dec 4th
Mischa Barton might not be one of the successful actresses around, as we speak, but the lady is trying to find ways to make a name for herself. It’s hard to really analyze the rise and fall of such artistes. Lindsay Lohan too at one point was one of the most-sought after actresses and look where the young actress is now; in and out of rehab.
Back to Mischa Barton, the actress is hoping to create a clothing line that is not that expensive for the masses, but at the same time it should be a very attractive line of clothes. The actress already has a collection of handbags under her name and she is now making plans to get busy again in the fashion industry.
Speaking on her planned project, Mischa says she plans to attract these young women who are looking to something good to spend on with whatever little money they have. We all know how fashion plays a very important part in a woman’s life, irrespective of whether the lady has a budget for these types of pleasures.
Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011: Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent & Givenchy
Dec 3rd
Recently, during the fashion week show in Paris, Chanel was said to have showed a strange mix of looks on the runway. From tweed suits for matured woman to hot pants galore, worn with matching jackets, these pieces were not exactly Chanel’s strongest show. The collection was said predictable and without emotion or feeling.
For Yves Saint Laurent, fashion journalist, Cathy Horyn stated that the collection was simply boring. However, on the other hand, Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2011 was said by another source that it was both elegant and was about minimalism.
Next, designer Ricardo Tisci has previously designed for Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 2010 Haute and it has received positive reviews but this time around, for Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, Ricardo Tisci has not been able to impressed many as his pieces were said to be a follow-up of other designers pieces. For example, in this collection, it shows that he did Gareth Pugh meets Ann Demeulemeester meets Balmain tailoring meets Dolce & Gabbana.
Victor & Rolf Spring/Summer 2011 in Paris Fashion Week
Dec 3rd
Victor Horsting and Rofl Snoeren revealed their Spring/Summer 2011 during the Paris Fashion Week. This collection shows that the pieces look extremely sophisticated and exclusive. However, they decided to take men’s shirts and turn it into something feminine which makes it look a bit quirky.
The fashion parade for Victor & Rofl Spring/Summer 2011 collection started off with a mini shirtdress made from strips of embroidered blue ribbons with four collars and four pairs of cuffs skipping up the arms. Some of the items were paired with classic pants and shorts. Next, came more feminine and fancy dresses abounded with black color. As for the final fashion parade, Victor & Rofl designed wedding dresses were on the runway, from bold and eccentric wedding dress designs to classy dress.
Sadly, Victor & Rofl Spring/Summer 2011 collection are not the kind of items you would expect to see in the streets.

2011 Fashion Trend: Cat Eye Glasses
Nov 18th

The cat eye glasses trend was inspired by the ‘50s and early ‘60s fashion. Designers have featured them on the spring 2011 runways. Be it the extreme retro frames at Giles Deacon and Jeremy Scott to the subtle cay eye shapes at Paul Smith, Tommy Hilfiger and Twenty8Twelve, everyone is just sporting the look.
As said, the cat eye frame works perfect with a square face or a diamond shaped face. Ones with round faces are advised to use sharper edges or large frames that curve upwards subtly. The advantage of using a pair cat eye glasses is that it matches perfectly with any outfit, from the very modern to the utterly vintage.
However, for those who would want to make a strong statement, try a pair of cat-eye or harlequin glasses with diamond shaped lenses that point sharply out. Meanwhile for an everyday pair, try a more subtle eye-cat glass with a slight flare out at the edges.
