For years, socks and sandals are known to be the ultimate style faux pas and a big no to those who wear them usually spotted on tourist and embarrassing parents trying to look fashionable. However, style rules are now set to be broken with wearing socks with sandals on the fashion button now.

The sock and sandal combo trend was seen on few of the Spring/Summer catwalk shows including Marni and Christian Dior. Celebs have also been spotted sporting the sock and sandal look. Fashion stylist says that you have to have a certain level of confidence and geek style to make the look work.

Go for the funky style socks such as striped numbers or you could also wear plain black socks with a white sandal for a monochrome style as seen on the Hermes catwalk. Those who like to keep it girly could go out for sparkly, frilly or embellished socks. Heels are important too; choose mid-heel rather than flat sandals.
