More on Fashion Week

Let’s get started on the shows that were showcased, Mr. Patrik Ervell’s show. The show itself was nice and the designs shown had a sober look. Next was the presentation of the Band of Outsiders. That show was like a flashback to us but nice, it brought back old memories (not so old). The designs were nice; it matched the décor such as tweed trousers, patterned shirts, thick cord suits, shrunken blazers and shearling coats not forgetting the usual fur. Come to think about it, it reminded us of the nerdy kids in school and still at the same time, it felt irrelevant specially with the girls who displayed the cleated oxfords. And lastly, came the Arise show which is a show that is put together just to promote the African culture. We remembered that this show also tends to showcase black models rather than the usual ones. Today we have supermodels in the likes of the beautiful Iman and Sessilee Lopez walking the ramp. First up was the collection of Jacques Van der Watt and Danica Lepen’s Black Coffee which showcased jackets. Next came Anisa Mpungwe’s Loin Cloth & Ashes which featured harem pants and other interesting outfits. And the last of all was Deola Sagoe who presented her models with darker and edgier outfits.
